I drew a rabbit chilling in a space ship. I wanted all of these space drawings to look like one of those crazy paintings you can occasionally find at Goodwill. Like somebody’s aunt (who took up art the same way she took up millinery, cake-decorating, poetry slams, etc.—with a healthy dose of sherry) drew and then left to her family in her will, and they were like, “Oh geez, what  are we going to do with this?” So they hung it up in their house for about a week, and then their five-year-old does a finger-painting, and they replace Crazy Aunt’s drawing with their kid’s drawing, and since they feel guilty throwing their beloved aunt’s work away, they take it to Goodwill, “Where somebody who will appreciate it will surely find it, because that’s what Aunt Mildred would have wanted.”
